Harvest Begins ...

Some guys post pictures of chicks in the underwear (that's right, Mark, I'm looking at you). I post pictures of firm, rounded ... vegetables.

I call this one "A mixture of beefsteak, heirloom and hybrids in pink, red, and yellow":

And this one is "Still Life With Cabbage":

If that doesn't inspire you, then you're a scrooge.

I desperately want to make spaghetti sauce. Used to be, I could buy a bunch of tomatoes and make some, but this summer they were SO expensive. Like a dollar a piece, even from the farms themselves!

What, no link to my blog? Your comment would quadruple my hit count? (Sheesh, just the once).

And now my wife is giving me grief, telling me that you're a "true gentleman."

Jonathon,

It does inspire me ... to eat.

Natasha,

I had no idea tomatoes were that expensive right now. I wonder why ... we just had a freeze down here, too, so there might be shortages this spring. Oh well. Truth is, if I averaged out how much I spend on soil, fertilizer, containers, etc., I probably pay more for tomatoes than you do!

Mrs. Terry,

Why, thank you. :)

Couldn't you two compromise and put panties on the tomatoes?

Allen,

Coming from you, I'm surprised. I figured you'd prefer the tomatoes au natural.
