1. Write a short story inspired by this picture.
2. The story must be 1,000 words or less.
3. I'll post them next week and throw it open to comments.
Happy writing, and I'll see you next week!
If a million monkeys typed at a million keyboards for a million years ... they'd know exactly how most writers feel.

What a picture! And in front of a bank in this economy! LOL!
Once again, of course, I have no idea what I'm going to do with this one!
I think I have an idea...
That was quick, Jude. Now I'm curious ...
This fascinated me. What a photo. Do we email you our stories - I'm going to participate. Frankly, I spent the better part of the day writing it - I just couldn't get the story out of my head so it had to go onto the monitor!
Amy,
Woo hoo! Yes, email your story to me when it's done. My email is jvzile@aol.com. Include also whatever name you want me to post it under (pseudonyms are fine). I'll start posting next week as I get enough stories to achieve critical mass.

I've got a cool idea. :-)

Great Jon. Since I was possessed by the image yesterday, I've emailed my story. Can't wait to read the others!!

Erica,
Et tu, Orloff? It seems everyone but me had some instant inspiration with this prompt ...
I have no idea, either. I have it lined up in the mental queue behind finish Project 1 and Project 2. I wish I didn't have such a one-track mind, but if I can pull off a couple mega-writing days, I really want to participate this month. When's the latest we can turn it in, again?
Natasha,
I'll start posting on Monday and post one a day until I run out. So far, I've got two, so if you have yours by Wednesday, it'll guaranteed go up.
Ooh! Does this mean I can still play? I'll try to write it this weekend and get it to you asap.
Melanie,
You're in!
Jon, what's the cut-off date? I'm a bit choked for time.
Hi, Kath! You can send by Wednesday and I have enough to post until then ...
